KKCC: Dear Ms Chan

I would like to learn more about Qualifications Framework. Could you please let me know more about it. Are those courses listed in the Framework recognized by the Government? Thanks.
陳筱芬: Thank you for your interest in Dr Ed Q & A Forum.

Eduplus.com.hk covered the overview of Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF) recently at the following links:

http://eduplus.com.hk/eduguide/ep2_issue.jsp?articleID=322&issueNumber=31

http://www.eduplus.com.hk/search/article_detail.jsp?article_id=2390&article_catid=125

Basically the HKQF divides most qualifications, both vocational and academic from Level 1 to 7. See bench marking as follows quoted from the Hong Kong Qualification Register (HKQR):

Level 1:
Example: Certificate

Level 2:
Example: Certificate

Level 3:
Example: Diploma

Level 4:
Example: Higher Diploma, Associate Degree

Level 5:
Example: Bachelor

Level 6:
Example: Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma, Master

Level 7:
Example: Doctorate

If you are interested to check the Grade listing of the courses already registered, you can check out the online search on the “Qualification Register” 「資歷名冊」

http://www.hkqr.gov.hk/hkqr/welcome.do

I also found the following FAQ section of in HKQF useful in answering some questions for Learners:

You may also be interested in browsing the Hong Kong Qualification Framework Official Government website as follows:

Hope the information is useful to you.
