陳筱芬: Dear Zack,

Thank you for your interest to this forum. Currently, there are a number of industries which are actively recruiting for young graduate, the Accounting firms, banking and finance field, and logistics management. Since you are a graduate in Business and Economics, and I suppose you have enjoyed what you studied, so you may consider these kinds of industries for entry of more relevancy. Many of the multinational corporations have Graduate Management Trainee program which I think you can consider as an option to entry.

Your Major in business and economic should be a suitable entry to banking and finance or even accounting, and as you know the finance industry is a very complex chain, you can consider going to work in retail banks or investment bank such as a role as a business analyst with your kind of background. But bearing in mind that in banking and finance industry, not just it is very long hours, there is also the path of taking professional qualification which you should get your mind prepared if you wish you develop a career in this filed.

Alternatively as a fresh graduate with your background, you can also consider entering the Sales and Marketing functions of an industry of your interest, provided you are like being at the front line, dealing with people and opens to new ideas. Sales and Marketing is one of the most important functions in a business enterprise, so it can be developed into a promising career.

Finally, since you are a fresh graduate, I would urge you to take your job hunting boundary further than Hong Kong, perhaps exploring the possibilities in China, the job market is of real boom there and but you should expect a different work culture there and prepare to be open-minded and flexible. Solid work track record in China will be a good investment to your career.

Good luck to your job hunting.
